I find my self painting all the time. These days starting to work on a new exhibition that will take place at the “Container” -  From May 1st to 21st. Join me on Facebook to stay updated.
These magical large women combined with trees and whimsical landscapes, started to appear in my paintings after my baby girl was born, they have big colorful dresses, they may look pregnant, and there is something magical going on in their big bellies… I’m sure motherhood took over my creative mind, and I enjoy it so much! New images come to my mind the moment I close my eyes, I am very grateful for that. My red tree painting is also part of this big thing, the canvas prints reproduced from it seem to be a bestseller…

Do you collect anything?
Oh yes. Many things:

1. Leaves & branches
I live in a small village in Israel, not far from Caesarea. My studio is at home, with a big window to my back yard. From time to time I go outside with my baby, and pick up interesting leaves, branches or stones that look interesting to me and I would make something with them later.

2. Old photographs from flea shops
My mother lives in Berlin, so I visit her from time to time. She is a tour guide, and I go with her sometimes. One time she showed me an antique & secondhand old stuff shop. Since then every time I come back I go to the big box of old photographs, and start digging in. Every time I buy about 5-9 pictures that look unique to me – like a Treasury. I collect them in a special album, they take me to another place in space & time.

3. Furniture from sides of the road
Well, you can also call it junk. This is how my husband calls it. But a big part of our house is actually furnished with these. I love this eclectic feeling. Actually the top of my work table in my studio was collected from the garbage in Jerusalem.

4. Textures
I take pictures of interesting textures I find mostly in nature. My camera is my favorite collecting tool…

Miniature acrylic painting

Art doesn’t have to be big, expensive, in a museum or in a big art collection. As I see things, the small creative expressions in my life are the most interesting part for me. Not the big projects, but a tiny though that finds it’s way into my fingers and out to the canvas. The series of the “Lucky squares” is something I started just because I liked the format. I bought these small canvases in one of my visits to Berlin, and they lay here for a long time before they became useful. I paint on them without too much planning, I just catch one visual idea and paint. The tiny size adds magic to it, the painting becomes an object – holdable… The name “Lucky squares” came from a friend of mine, who reacted to these paintings like they were a precious finding. She told me that when she was a child, there was a common belief that if you find a square stone it will bring you luck. So I called these tiny art pieces “Lucky squares”. Their size is 2 inches square, (5 cm square), originally painted by me, covered with glossy varnish, signed. Available at my Etsy shop.

I almost finished my Peru oil pastels paintings series. I have scanned and printed them on A4 heavy wight paper and it looks great. All prints available on my Etsy shop.

A year after traveling in Peru, I finally painted this series. Meanwhile I finished my degree, I moved to the country side and had a baby… So, I’ve been processing. These images were chosen from hundreds of pictures I took while traveling, you can see it here on my flickr. When time will come I’ll print some of the photographs for sale too. But now I’ll just focus on painting. This trip was very inspiring in many ways, and as someone I don’t remember his name said (and then I changed it to what I want to say): “The thing with traveling is not having new things to see, but having new eyes”.
